A Little Behavior Improvement

Hello hello hello!

Well guys today I'm changing my post a little bit and I'm going to talk about some behavior improvement. Since the beginning, I being focusing on writing about the everyday problems we all have but I saw something the other day that really called my attention and I want to let you guys know about it.

So I'm in my college class and we have a guest speaker. When she gets there, she tell us to think about the things we love and also to think about our mistakes and the things we want to change about ourselves. At the moment I was like eh ok I guess I can do that much. But what I didn't know was the activity she planned to do. After like 10 minutes, she made half of the class stand and tell the person in front everything we thought about. When she said that, I was like omg there is no way I gonna tell this person stuff like that. However, after really thinking about it I was like whatever let's get over this. To be honest, when I did it I felt silly but I also felt something easing inside me. I felt powerful and better with myself because I was admitting the things that bother me and the things I really love. Then, I started to think about what I did while the speaker talked about other stuff.

After a couple days, I began to miss the feeling I got that day so I came up with  the conclusion of why I felt like that, and as the own saying says, "the first step towards solving you problems is admitting that you have them." After coming up with that, I got an idea; that idea was to stand in front of the mirror every day and tell myself all the things I need to be grateful for and the things I want to get rid of like people around me and the bad habits I have. I know this might sound crazy but it actually helps. As it is right now, I have noticed the fact that I'm treating others better and my bad habits are fading away little by little.

I know this doesn't make much sense and it might sound extremely stupid and crazy but I encourage you guys to do it or at least try it. Like really, I don't care if I have to look like an idiot for a couple days or months if after those months are over I'm going to be a better person. I hope you guys feel the same way, that you think about it. There are some habits that everyone has that no everybody likes them and find them annoying. I'm not saying to change to make others happy, however, I'm telling you guys to try to change into a more desirable person to be around.

What Is Loyalty?

At the beginning of last month, my professor asked me to make an essay about an abstract object. He told me to focus on something I consider important and necessary and I chose loyalty without even thinking. Eventually, a lot of my classmates asked me why I picked loyalty over things such as friendship, family, and love. All I said was "do you guys really believe you can have all those things without being loyal?" and let the conversation drop.

To be honest, I said that because that's how I feel. A lot of people already proved me that we humans trend to take the smallest things from granted. We are the kind of species that think things will last forever. But guess what? THEY WON'T. Also, don't we all know someone who is always talking about being loyal and how important loyalty is, when actually the same person doesn't know what it means. Loyalty is not only being faithful in a relationship. Loyalty is the way we are able to show support and understanding to the people that surround us. However, I know I make this sound pretty easy to find but the truth is that many people demand loyalty even though they are not willing to give it.

First of all, only someone who is loyal respects other people, appreciates and treasures trust, and never does anything that might be considered betrayal. This kind of person knows how much it takes to earn such an important thing and realizes that without loyalty there cant be trust, connection, or honesty. I personally know I won't be able to tell someone one of my secrets if that someone can't be honest with me or can't keep his or her mouth shut. Not only me but many people feel the same way about others. Loyalty is not something that we can't give to someone if that person is not willing to return it.

I still remember that in my essay I wrote about relationships. One of the things I couldn't understand even after writing, was how people can cheat on someone because pure lust. Like really?! What's wrong with that kind of people? If you love someone, you don't cheat. If you can't keep yourself from wanting other individuals then there most be something your partner is missing and you refuse to admit it. I know that talking and recognizing this won't solve anything but as a person one has to think about others' feeling too. If you can't keep yourself on the line it might be because the person you are with can't give you what you need and desire. And when things are like that are better to let go.

In addition, let's think about our friends and best friends. We all have at least one person who signifies a lot for us even though we aren't blood related or dating. This can only happen when there is a connection. I can recall writing a post about my best friend Bubu. What is important about our relationship isn't the fact that we can sing together or have fun. The most important thing is the fact that we trust each other and speak our minds. We might not agree most of the time but we let each other know the things we should try to stop doing or should improve at. This kind of relationship only takes place when two people are loyal to each other. I don't get upset when he says something "bad" about me because I know he just wants the best for me. And if we can be like that, why can't you guys?

Most importantly, before giving our loyalty to others, we should give it to ourselves first. Honestly, what do we expect of ourselves sometimes? How can be show others who we are if we don't even know? We have to allow ourselves to feel and think. Meaning we should enjoy things more and think about what brings pleasure to us. Yet, we don't have to go and tell everyone every nonconstructive thought we have. There is always a LIMIT!!! After this essay, I started to be honest with myself. I would be like "man I have a bad attitude" or "I'm really mean sometimes" and I know it might sound weird but it is the truth and is helping me to be better. If there is something that I hate, and all of us should hate, is having someone noticing something about me that I didn't notice myself. The point is that we can't wait for others to tell us who we are; that we should know ourselves.

This post is important to me because I consider loyalty is the most valuable thing be humans have and can give to others. When we give our loyalty, we also give our love and our trust. I know we all have different ways to define this word but I also know that many people would agree with this statement. So think about it. What role does loyalty play in your life?
